A few cinnamon sticks tied with ribbon make a small, textural Christmas ornament. The simple shape suits a rustic tree or a gift topper. Keep the project decorative and separate from spices you intend to use in the kitchen.
Choose a small, even bundle
Select three or four clean decorative cinnamon sticks of similar length. Set aside any split pieces with sharp edges. Lay the sticks together and check that the bundle can hang without one piece slipping out. A small ornament is easier to secure and less likely to weigh down a delicate branch.

Secure the bundle first
Tie a short length of sturdy twine firmly around the middle, adding an appropriate craft adhesive only if the product directions allow it. Let any adhesive cure fully before handling. This inner tie should hold the bundle by itself so the visible ribbon can remain a soft decorative layer.

Add a short ribbon hanger
Tie a ribbon around the middle and form a separate loop above it for hanging. Tug gently over the work table to check the attachment before placing it on the tree. Trim long tails so they cannot reach nearby bulbs. Avoid loose beads or small bells if they are likely to fall off.

Store and display with care
Keep the ornament away from heat, flames, food, young children, and pets. Some people are sensitive to fragrances, so use an unscented alternative in shared spaces when appropriate. Pack fully dry bundles in a labeled craft box after the season, separate from edible spices and from fragile glass ornaments.
